It was fun to collaborate with CR Systems to create a series of custom house models for their trade show booth for The Buildings Show. CR Systems specializes in design solutions for architectural sheet metal products. Karl provided the roof profiles, Laura 3D modelled and 3D printed them, and Henry helped assemble the roofs and fit them into his broader custom trade show booth design.
As I was 3D modelling these, it was interesting to learn about roof structures and panel direction, and I also learned how to best 3D print these details through prototyping. It’s interesting how working out how to 3D print these roofs connects in some ways to the structure of real roofs - some were self supporting and others needed support material to print.
