
Square NFC Tag
The Square NFC Tag can be used as a tool for casual modern networking. This playful shape has an NFC tag inside, allowing it to be scanned to quickly direct someone to your Instagram page. This avoids having to type out a username and makes the process of connecting more seamless. This could be used on a tabletop in a retail or market setting or carried in a pocket.
To scan, hold the tag on the upper back part of an unlocked phone next to the camera. A banner will pop up at the top that says "Instagram NFC Tag" and clicking on this banner will lead to the Instagram page. NFC stands for Near-Field Communication and is a proximity-based technology.The tag comes blank and instructions to program the tag are listed below.

To program a link to an Instagram account:
- Download the app "NFC Tools".
- Click "Write".
- Click "Add a Record".
- Click "Social networks".
- Enter your username into the text bar.
- Click "Edit" next to Facebook and change it to "Instagram" and click "OK".
- Click "Write" - the app is now Ready to Scan.
- Hold the NFC tag near the upper back side of your phone, next to the camera. If successful, you will see a checkmark.
- Your tag should now be ready to use! Exit the NFC Tools app and test scanning your tag, in the same location on the upper back side of your phone.
- If the writing process doesn't work, you can try to write it again. You can also erase the tag and start again. To erase: Click "Other" > Click "Erase tag" > Scan tag.
