Bacon Embroidery Workshop

As part of the 2026 DesignTO Festival, join us for a workshop to learn how to make a Bacon Magnet 3D Embroidery Kit with Laura Carwardine!

Laura recently designed an embroidery kit that features a three dimensional bacon-shaped canvas. In this workshop, everyone will receive one kit and Laura will guide you through the process of completing the kit, from learning where to begin and how to do the stitches, to how to do the finishing details.

The bacon kit uses two stitches: continental stitch and whip stitch. The full colour instruction book includes a counted pattern, with diagrams and pictures to help explain the stitches, how to begin and end threads, and how to attach the magnet.
